Using Interactive Maps

The Filament Bible App includes interactive maps that let you visually explore the biblical world. Zoom in on locations, toggle map layers, and tap places to discover events, photos, as well as historical context.

Opening a map

Interactive maps live inside See. Filter the dropdown to Maps, then tap one to open it.

  • Pinch, zoom, and pan to explore any area.

  • An info box gives general context; slide it down to minimize, or back up to bring it into view.

  • Tap the gray layers button to toggle overlays like healings, miracles, or modern borders, depending on the map.

  • Bold cities and regions with a dot or box are interactive. Tap one to see its boundary, a list of events there, and a photo. Tap the photo to enlarge it.

To close the map, grab the bar at the top and slide it down.

Using Interactive Illustrations

The Filament Bible App includes detailed illustrations and infographics that bring biblical context to life visually. Many are interactive: tap into labeled areas to uncover deeper information, additional illustrations, and more.

Finding infographics and illustrations

Inside See, scroll past the videos to find illustrations and infographics: architectural reconstructions and historical scenes like temple layouts, plus visual explainers like how Israel's lunar calendar relates to the modern solar one.

Pinch to zoom in on any detail. Bold labels are interactive, tap one to open a detail panel, and some panels open a further illustration of that element (tapping part of a building, for instance, can reveal its interior). Expand a panel to read more, or dismiss it to return to the full view.

To close an illustration, grab the bar at the top and slide it down, back to the See content list.
