Troubleshooting the Filament Bible App
Most issues clear up with a quick refresh. Work through these in order.
iOS/iPadOS
Check the App Store for an update.
Restart your device.
Confirm you're on iOS/iPadOS 14.0 or later (beta versions aren't supported).
Last resort: uninstall and reinstall. Sign in and your progress comes back, so make sure you know your login first.
Android
Check the Play Store for an update.
Force-close: Settings → Apps → Filament → Force Stop, then reopen.
Clear the cache: Settings → Apps → Filament → Storage → Clear Cache.
Restart your device.
Confirm you're on Android 8.0 Oreo or later (beta versions aren't supported).
Last resort: uninstall and reinstall, then sign in to restore everything.
Tips
Turn on automatic updates (iOS, Android) so you're never stuck on an old version. If the app freezes without fully crashing, try force-closing before restarting the whole device. If you're on a VPN, turn it off, Filament may not work correctly while it's active.
Other scenarios
App doesn't appear in search. Confirm your device meets the OS requirement above, or try searching "Filament" without "Bible."
App won't install. Free up at least 100 MB of storage and confirm a stable connection.
Can't find Filament content after installing. You need a Filament edition Bible; look for the Filament icon within the first few pages.
Blank screen on load. Follow the steps above for your device.
Download stuck or won't finish. Connect to stable Wi-Fi, free up storage, then close and reopen the app. If it stalls at the same point, clear the download and try again or switch networks.
Can't create or access an account. Your email may already be registered, try logging in or resetting your password instead.
Bible showing in the wrong language. Switch editions in the app to your preferred language; if it's still wrong, remove and re-add the edition.
Audio doesn't match the text, or doesn't work offline. Note the exact book, chapter, and verse and report it, since the audio may be from a different edition. Offline audio playback isn't available.
