Reading Plan Playback
Listening to a reading plan? The audio player lets you control playback, follow along verse by verse, sync back to the passage being read, and choose how far the audio keeps going.
What you'll see in the player
Reading info: At the top of the player, you'll see what's currently playing: the passage (for example, Psalm 13:1–6), the audio edition (such as Oasis NLT), and the narrator. If you're listening as part of a reading plan, the plan name and day appear here too.
Progress bar: Shows your place in the current reading, with the elapsed time on the left and the time remaining on the right. A small marker above the bar shows the exact verse currently being read. Drag the slider to jump to a different spot in the reading.
Playback controls
Play / Pause: The large center button starts and pauses the audio.
Rewind 15 / Forward 15: Skip backward or forward 15 seconds. Helpful when you want to hear a verse again or move past a section.
Previous / Next: The outer buttons jump to the previous or next reading.
Playback speed (1x): Tap to change how fast the audio plays - 1.0x, 1.25x, 1.5x.
Sync: jump to what you're hearing
If you've scrolled away from the passage being read, a Sync button appears. Tap it and the app takes you right back to the page where the current verse is being read, so you can follow along in the text. The Sync button only appears when the verse being played isn't on the page you're currently viewing.
Autoplay
Choose how far the audio continues: When you're listening within a reading plan, tap the Autoplay button to cycle through three modes:
Off: Playback stops at the end of the current reading.
Autoplay: Playback continues through all of the readings assigned for the current day.
Autoplay+: Playback continues through every reading, all the way to the end of the reading plan.
When you're listening outside of a reading plan, there's no Autoplay setting. The audio simply continues playing to the end of the book of the Bible you're in.
